Kari’s passion is building a rock-solid marketing program, matching it to a properly executed plan of attack, and observing the results.
Strategy is her strength, and her first objective is success for her clients. She only wins when her clients succeed. Therefore, she creates and implements marketing/ event/ public relations plans with this as her key objective.
Kari has 17-plus years of marketing, public relations, event management experience and a diverse portfolio of skills and areas of expertise. Since January 2007, she has owned and managed SOMA Concepts & Solutions. Her clients have included Concours in the Hills (Public Relations), Celebration of Light Fireworks Festival (General Manager), BC Hydro (Marketing Program Specialist), VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation (Event Management), Digital Air Strike (Marketing Strategy & Project Management), Liberty Wildlife (Public Relations), Vancouver Sun Garden Show (Public Relations), Canada-China Lawyers Foundation (Event Management), Cowell Auto Group (Publishing), Rolls-Royce Motor Cars of Vancouver (Event Management), Lamborghini Vancouver (Public Relations), and Josephson Angus Barristers (Strategic Marketing Planning & Execution).
In addition, Kari has over ten years of magazine publishing, editing and copywriting experience. She has produced magazines and written articles for BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi and Volkswagen dealerships, and created extensive amounts of ad copy for numerous clients.
From 2000 through to 2007, she worked at Brian Jessel BMW and Brian Jessel Ferrari/Maserati as the Marketing Manager. Over a seven-year period, Kari developed and managed innovative events and marketing programs that helped the company grow to be the top-selling BMW dealership in Canada.
Her past agency experience includes PACE Group and DDB. Her clients included Seattle Mariners, Molson Indy Vancouver, Canada Place Corp., McDonalds and Save-On-Foods. In addition, she has worked with various non-profit organizations such as the Empty Stocking Fund, Make-a-Wish Foundation Canada, Covenant House Vancouver, and The Gratitude AEffect.
