One of Kari’s greatest passions is creating the ultimate marketing plan. She enjoys sitting down with various individuals within an organization and learning exactly who they are, what their strengths and weaknesses are, what they are selling, and what their future objectives are. Strategy is her strength. There is nothing more thrilling than to build a rock-solid marketing program, match it to a properly executed plan of attack, and observe the results.

Kari’s first objective is success for her clients. She only wins when her clients succeed. Therefore, she creates and implements marketing/event/public relations plans with this as her key objective.
Kari has 14-plus years of marketing experience and a diverse portfolio of skills and areas of expertise. Since January 2007, she has owned and managed SOMA Concepts & Solutions. Her clients have included the HSBC Celebration of Light Fireworks Festival, BC Hydro, Vancouver Sun Garden Show, Canada-China Lawyers Foundation, Cowell Auto Group and Josephson Angus Barristers. From 2000 through to 2006, she worked at Brian Jessel BMW as the Marketing Manager. Over a seven-year period, Kari developed and managed innovative events and marketing programs that helped the company grow to be the top-selling BMW dealership in Canada.
Her past agency experience includes PACE Group and DDB. Her clients included Molson Indy Vancouver, Canada Place Corp., McDonalds and Save-On-Foods. In addition, she has worked with various non-profit organizations such as the Empty Stocking Fund, Make-a-Wish Foundation Canada, and Covenant House Vancouver.

SOMA is one of the oldest areas of Vancouver, and has rich historical significance. Currently, SOMA is enjoying an exciting resurgence. The area is edgy, creative and inspiring, yet it was built on a solid foundation, filled with passion and history. This is where SOMA's Managing Director, Kari Kylo, lived when the company was first launched. She loved the energy of the area, and was drawn to the name. As a result, SOMA Concepts & Solutions became the name of her marketing company.
